man, left out that this was at the grocery store
OH: “I love touching this stuff” by an 8-yr old boy talking to his buddy before running his hands over the wheat grass and running off.
In a horribly long line at the Kaiser pharmacy to pick up antibiotics for Miles ear infection. Glad the kid by the door with the bowl left.
Trip to San Diego officially canceled. Appointments with the doctor scheduled.
Already been thrown-up on this morning. Happy New Year! Seriously, poor little guy isn’t feeling well. Gonna be a quiet NYE.
December 2007
Kids are still sick after a week. Fevers, colds, runny noses. Allie and I are considering running away from home.
Finished the Time articles about Putin and the newly rich in Russia. Fun fact: perestroika means “one with much oil, plus two Ferrari’s”.
I’m not sure what this Safeway has against diet cream soda but I, for one, am disgusted!
Help me level-up on LinkedIn. I’m 30 connections shy of getting the 500+ icon on LinkedIn. After that I win right?
@anildash I would wait the two weeks. I’m buying one post-Macworld either way. Samsies?
I may cancel my gym membership and just play Wii boxing. Wow, that was a crazy unexpected workout.
On January 17th I’ll have a 7-hour layover in London. What would you do with a 7hr layover at Heathrow? Leave the airport? Whirlwind tour?
Overdosed on peppermint bark. Merry Christmas tweverybody.
The Kindle is a keeper and beats the pants off of the Sony Reader. Already reading ‘No Country for Old Men’.
Wow, Allie surprised me with a Kindle. Do I really want a Kindle? I have a Sony Reader already. Is it really better?
Wii are staying up late just getting started on the Santa portion of the evening. Wii are hoping the kids don’t wake up to our trial run.

The Shellen brothers wish you a very Merry Christmas. If there had been a thing such as YouTube in 1988 we would have used our Fisher Price PXL-2000 videocam to make you something with our gifts that day, such as the Nerf flag football set and the Star Stage. This photo actually explains a lot about the Shellen brothers if you look carefully. Merry Christmas everybody, we hope you get a snazzy...
Saw old friends for lunch and now about to do some Christmas cookie runs to friends houses. Like doorbell ditching but with more chocolate.
Picked up the last Burton Sleeper hoodie in the Bay Area… 1 size too big. Anyone want to trade a L for an XL? http://tinyurl.com/22gyjl
@JeffClavier You want VisualHub. Just converted AVI to Tivo for my kids with it too. http://tinyurl.com/yeabvy
Kids have colds but you couldn’t tell that from the pent up energy level. Took them to the park anyway to run out the Xmas crazies.
@anildash Everything is coming up Milhouse!
The person who thought it was a good idea to teach ‘I’m proud to be an American’ to Drew for his school holiday show is getting a letter! :|
Waiting for Drew’s school holiday program to begin.
Stopping for pho to go on the way home from looking at potential new LJ HQ in SF.
At SixApart HQ
Lunch meeting just blew up. Anyone up for lunch near South Park or downtown SF?
Agree with @sacca Great piece in The Economist about Ev and Obvious.
Google Translate has gotten a LOT better now that they are using their own home grown code instead of Systran. Now for live voice translate.

Regarding my call for feedback on my new blog design the other day:
I took a peek.
You asked, so I’ll tell you.
It’s great except the lettering on the “shellen.com”
title at the top looks kind of fuzzy and weak.
I know! It looks like it was done on an Etch-a-Sketch!
I think a different font would be better.
Just my opinion.
Otherwise, very impressive.
Love you....

My youngest brother Grant explains in his post that we had a friendly little graham cracker house making party at Mom’s recently. My competitive spirit lay dormant until he reminded me in the midst of building how creative (demented?) I had been in years past.
Jason has been more adventurous, one year creating a graham-cracker car accident that left a gingerbread man severed in half,...
